iLL Garage Project Cars WANTED for Sponsorship

This is not your average sponsorship opportunity. iLL Garage is looking to sponsor your Project Car!!!  iLL Garage owners have been into the Sport Compact Scene when it was called the Import Scene (over 10 years ago).  We have pursued sponsorships by visiting shops, talking to vendors at race events/ shows, snail mailed, and emailed shops and companies with the possibility that someone out there would help us get our cars to the next level.  Most companies want to sponsor a car that is already completed not one that is half built or not built at all.   

What iLL Garage is looking for, is an individual with a car that tries to do it themselves (DIY).  Someone on a budget and is realistic with what they want to accomplish within their means.  We don’t want a car that is complete, we want the exact opposite!  We want a project car.  A car that needs a motor, paint, wheels etc etc..  We want an enthusiast of the Sport that has a plan and knows where they want to go with it.  We want a car that we can see transition into something unique.  They can either be performance or show car based.  Want to help someone take their car to the next step. We want to establish a relationship that will be beneficial for both parties.

iLL Garage has taken car shells, pushed them around, built them from the ground up, and have done all the work.  We have done swaps, suspension, custom turbo installs, light fabrication, dyno tuning, bodywork, welding and painting.  Click here (insert link) to see some things we worked on.  iLL garage knows what it is like to wait, search, and fight for good deals.  We know what it is like to be frustrated due to all the setbacks with your project. When it’s all said and done, the end result is all that matters.

iLL Garage Sponsorship Benefits:

• Access to knowledge and experience when buiding your car, which helps cut down on cost and wasted time.


• If we don’t know the answer, we can help you find it.  iLL Garage owners have been in the scene for several years and have established relationships with some knowledgeable individuals.  If it’s something we haven’t done before, odds are we know someone that has.


• Referrals to services that we do not offer and we know are reputable.  We have relationships with other professionals for dyno tuning, parts installation, cage welding, chasis work, machine shops and body shops. 


• Access to parts offered by iLL Garage at discount levels below already very competitive pricing.  We operate on the lowest possible margins.  We do all that we can to cut down on costs to charge the lowest possible prices.  We stay current with what our competition charges (we even call them to ask).  Discount levels are specified in the ‘Sponsorship Agreement’


• Access to parts being sampled and tested by iLL Garage at introductory discount levels.  We contact different vendors and manufacturers about new products and inquire about sampling new products that we are interested in carrying.  The manufacturer usually offers us a couple products to test out and we would pass that on to you for research and development.  Discount levels will be specified in the ‘Sponsorship Agreement’.


• FREE parts from iLL Garage.  Giveaways to aid in completing your project.


• Progress tracking.  You will be given space on www.illgarage.com that features your full build in our sponsored cars section.  Progress pictures and details will be posted with your approval.  Friends and other people in the community can see your progress and admire your work.


• Reimbursement of event entry fees.  Criteria for reimbursement are specified in the ‘Sponsorship Agreement’.


• Prize money awarded to event winners.  Requirements and amounts are specified in the ‘Sponsorship Agreement’.

What does iLL Garage get from this sponsorship

• We get exposure from you representing us on the street and at events.


• We get referral business from you.  You refer friends and family to us for their parts needs.  No, we do not require you to put a flier on every single car at a show or have your friends stand around handing out fliers to everyone that walks by.  Your promotion commitment is very minimal compared to other sponsorship agreements.  Promotion commitment will be outlined in the ‘Sponsorship Agreement’.


• We get more hits on our website from people checking your progress, which equates to more potential customers and sales.  People ask you about parts on your car and we sell more parts.


• We get to be a part of keeping a Sport that we have been a part of for so long, alive.


• You win an award at a show or a race event, we win as well.

Who qualifies for the iLL Garage Sponsorship

·        We prefer the car be located in the Midwest area.

·        Someone that has a plan laid out for their car and is committed to it.  They know where they want to go with their car.

·        Someone that has a need for the parts and accessories we carry and can obtain.

·        Someone that is on a budget and can use our help.

·        A hands-on person that wants to do some or all of the work on their car.  If you had money to pay someone to do all the work on your car, you probably wouldn’t need a sponsor or care much about prices.

How do I apply and what’s the catch??  There’s a catch!  Where’s the small writing at???

• We don’t need your credit card number!!  There is no application fee or yearly membership dues.


• There is a purchase fulfillment of parts (That’s the catch!!!).  We require buy-in for sponsorship.  This shows us you are serious about your project and the sponsorship with iLL Garage.  We want someone that is willing to hold up their end of the agreement and build a long standing relationship with our company.  We don’t want someone looking to get a couple of discounted parts for himself and his friends and never hear from them again.  We want to work with you until the end of your project.  Both parties are here to benefit from the sponsorship.  The buy in to receive sponsorship pricing is $2499.  Does it seem like a lot?  Based on our experiences, building a car costs a lot more that $2499.  You are not giving someone $2500 and getting nothing in return.  You will be getting $2500 of parts.  Our prices are very competitive.  You will receive discounts on top of our competitive prices, once you complete your buy-in requirement.  After your buy-in purchase, you will be eligible for sponsorship pricing quotes for one year from that date.  Terms and pricing will be outlined in the ‘Sponsorship Agreement’.


• If you are still interested, we need a resume of yourself and your car.  Sponsorship is a relationship, so want to know a little about you and your background as well as the car.  Please send all inquiries to sponsorships@illgarage.com

• List of current modifications with pictures


• History of the car.  What’s the cars story?  Anything unique about it?  Does it have any special value to you?


• Why did you choose to work on this particular car/ model as opposed to something else?


• List of future modifications and plans for the car.  Be specific with parts needed.


• Your timeline to completion.


• This is the hardest question to answer and there is no wrong or right answer.  What is there about yourself and your project that would make us want to sponsor you?

• After we receive the information requested, we will send you a confirmation receipt.  You will be contacted within 3 days for either additional information and to set up an interview or a decision.  Interview will be conducted face-to-face when possible or over the phone.
